Rules of the Kwoon
3 Major Rules
Bow when entering and exiting the training area (this is referred to as the Kwoon or Dojo)
No talking during lessons
All members’ bodies, hair, uniforms & training gear must be clean
Extended Rules
No use of profanity in the Kwoon
You may not get a drink at any time during a lesson unless told to do so by your instructor
Shirts must be worn at all times (except in specific sparring)
Nails to be trimmed short
No perfumes or colognes
Do not leave the tatami without permission of your instructor
Be on time for classes
Remove rings or other metal before training
Long hair must be tied back
Instructor to be referred to as Sifu, Sensei or Professor, according to their tradition
Drugs or alcohol use is strictly prohibited
Refrain from using your skills in public unless necessary
"Osu" is a sign of respect and is appropriate response when given instruction or correction by your instructor
Consider your partner's safety at all times
Members of Totality Martial Arts Academy are free to train at other schools
When visiting other schools, seminars or competing in tournaments, always show respect and courtesy that brings honor to Totality Martial Arts Academy
Visitors are welcome as long as they respect dojo rules, and must be invited or ask permission before visiting, fill out the waiver & pay for any fees prior to training
Sandals are mandatory
Rash guards or t-shirts are mandatory
